So I’ve been watching the Democrats (a single precinct in Des Moines) on CSPAN1 since about 6:30, but for various reasons haven’t been able to get to the computer ’til now. I’ll try to recreate the so-far…

• It’s tough going into this with high hopes and low expectations. The right choice is so crystal clear that only a Democrat could fail to make it : )
• Speaker just compared Iowa to Switzerland. Heh, that sorta makes sense. Except Wisconsin has the cheese.
• The Richardson people are doing a pretty good job of working the room, but we’ll have to see if it pans out
• Sigh. He didn’t make the first cut. Maybe he’ll pull enough from Dodd, Biden, and Kucinich to make round two.

They’re realigning now. Back to the tube for a moment…

7:56 Damnit, everyone folded into the Big 3, Obama – Edwards – Clinton, in that order.

I suppose if I had to choose between them, that would probably be my order as well. OK, well having no more dog in precinct 53′s hunt, I’m going to flip to the GOP for a minute.

Eh, lame, they’re counting. I think I’ll surf CNN & MSNBC.

It looks like the Republicans are landsliding towards the Bible thumper. No shock there. Doesn’t look like Ron Paul’s yet making the impact his cult has been crowing about.

And the Dems statewide are rolling just like 53. Sigh.

Well that’s it for me. Given that my 2nd and 3rd choices were never in the running, I suppose I’m glad my 4th choice at least is in the lead. Goodnight and good luck.
