Yep, that’s about right.
Actually 2012 doesn’t seem like much of a mystery to me. Barring some unforseen tragedy — which could include anything from the unthinkable, to Obama just really fucking things up — I think we’ll see an incumbent Obama handily defeating either Huckabee or Romney. The Republicans like to give people their turn, especially when they can sacrifice one they don’t really like to a windmill tilt.
But 2016? Most of the current players, including Biden, will likely be considered too old. I’m going to throw this out, mostly pulled out of my ass — Brian Schweitzer vs Grover Norquist.

I read that as “Brian Setzer.” Which, ya know, would be interesting. At least we know he’d rock this country, rock it inside out.

LOL yeah. I’m not sure I agree with his position on “making it scream and shout”, but sometimes we have to compromise.
